We all wish, dream, hope, and wonder what the future will bring. I’ve always enjoyed picturing my future home and how I am going to decorate it for each season. I like to think about what my future kids names will be, although it gets kinda hard when you don’t know what the last name will be yet. On the other hand, I am passionate about planning my future career by exploring what I want to pursue. I will definitely be doing something creative. I’ll possibly be an event coordinator, stylist, marketing planner, or professional blogger and all.
Since all of these things are deep into the future for myself, I want to be able to make the most out of the time I have now and every opportunity in college. I don’t want to regret missing out on opportunities now by being too wrapped up in the future. I want to live up my college years and spend late nights with friends, often. I feel like it’s a necessity during college to stay up late and go out every once and awhile. I’ve heard of people who have gotten too wrapped up in their future & they ended up missing out on their younger years. You need to take a step back and enjoy your life now.
I greatly enjoy planning and I believe being prepared is smart, however, if it comes to the point when it consumes you wholeheartedly, then you’ve lost sight of where you are today.
God tells us…
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” – Matthew 6:34
I encourage you to spend the next five minutes to start thinking of ways you can be more involved within the moment/throughout your everyday life. One way would be to put your phone down anytime you are with someone, especially while having a conversation. Pray and write down just three things you would like to do today to live in the moment. Share your three things in the comments below in order to stay accountable. I’d love to hear from you and get inspired myself!
